PETA is Nagging Luke Bryan About Those Baby Kangaroos, Because of Course They Are

People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is causing a hullabaloo over the baby kangaroos Luke Bryan gifted his wife Caroline for Christmas.

Bryan gave Caroline the baby ‘roos as an addition to her new project, Brett’s Barn, a sanctuary for rescue animals that is dedicated to the memory of her late niece, Sadie Brett. “We’re working with some local charities to bring kids out to see the animals and stuff like that,” Bryan said of the project last year.

And apparently PETA has a bone to pick with that.

PETA Vice President Colleen O’Brien issued a statement on this super serious, very pressing matter. “PETA is calling for an investigation into where these kangaroos came from and stands ready to help Luke Bryan right this wrong and move these vulnerable marsupials to a reputable sanctuary.”

She added that kangaroos are “not toys and will only become more difficult to care for as they grow older.”

Yeah, I’m going out on a limb here, but if he purchased them for his wife’s animal sanctuary, I’d also think he realizes they’re probably not toys.

But if you’re familiar with PETA, their response should come as no surprise. The animal-rights organization often jumps onto animal-related issues surrounding celebrities to cry foul. Keep in mind, this is the same organization that started a court case to get a monkey the copyright to his viral “selfie.”

Who knows, maybe LB snapped these little ‘roos up from some black market animal peddler while on tour, but we’re pretty darn sure this is a big, dry veggie nothing burger of an issue.
